Create a guest list + send out evites
It seems silly but it makes a huge difference if you create a guest list. This way, you know how many people are coming so you have enough food + drinks. Send out an evite, using either email or Paperless Posts. This way, you have an RSVP list + you can even see who can bring desserts, so everyone can see the comments. (And so you don’t have 3 trays of brownies).
Plan for the weather to not cooperate
Almost every BBQ that my husband + I have thrown, it has rained (of course). So you need to plan for that even if the weather says sunny (again, has happened). Check your guest list (beforehand) + make sure you have enough room in the house to hold all your guests. If it’s really that bad, can you cook inside? Is there room to put all the food if you need it inside?
Prep the Grill + Side Dishes
Don’t forget this step!! It will save you time the day of + calm an anxious mind (like myself). Prep the grill, clean it, make sure you have more than enough propane. Make side dishes such as pasta salads, desserts, fruit salad, the night before.
